Frequently Asked Questions
- What does "Rating" mean?
BNWCS ratings are numbers that attempt to indicate a given player's chances of winning a fight, based on their past experience.
When you kill someone, your rating will go up. The higher the rating of the person you killed, the more your own rating will increase.
When you die, your rating will drop. The lower the rating of the person you killed, the more your own rating will drop.
The BNWCS Ratings system is based on the "Elo Rating" used to measure the skill of Chess players.

Yes. The BNWCS can work both with or without linden-damage. A correctly-configured "BNWCS Combat Zone Custom Settings Server" object is required for the BNWCS to run in Linden-Damage areas. Talk to "Matthias Rozensztok" if you need help figuring out the correct settings. - How much does it cost?
Currently, the BNWCS health meter costs "L$ whatever," and avatars who do not already have a meter will have to pay at least L$1. Updates to the BNWCS meter will always be free.
Currently, the BNWCS Developer's Kit is free. It will remain free.
Currently, the BNWCS Combat Zone Owner's Kit is free. In the future, there may be a charge for it to cover the costs of support. I was originally against this, but user feedback seems to indicate that this is a good idea. Crazy, right? Updates would still be free. - What is your goal with the BNWCS? (Are you in it for the money?)
To bring fun combat to anyone and everyone in SL who wants it. (No).
If your question wasn't answered, and is about some in-world object, try reading the appropriate Owner's Manual page on this site. If that doesn't help, or you have some other question, feel free to contact Matthias Rozensztok about it.
